After a nice night's sleep in the Kruger, it's time to move on to the next phase of your experience. Enjoy one final morning game drive before flying to Cape Town. A direct flight takes about 2:30 hours, while a connecting flight in Johannesburg will tack on an extra hour or two Cape Town is unique, diverse, and full of surprises around every corner. The city is located at the northern end of the Cape Peninsula, about 30 miles (50 km) from the Cape of Good Hope. Cape Town is referred to as the "mother city" of South Africa since it was the site of the country's first European settlement.

Your time in Cape Town is fully flexible, and you will have plenty of time over the next three days to take advantage of everything the city has to offer. After breakfast at Hotel, you'll be ready to tackle the day. With your iVenture City pass, you'll be able to avoid the lines and move around with ease, unearthing some of the must-see attractions. Take the cable car up Table Mountain, then descend to the Peninsula. Explore the V&A waterfront and take a sunset cruise. You'll surely want to mark these off your list.
Table Mountain
Table Mountain, at 3,563 feet (1,086 meters), rises triumphantly above the city. If you enjoy hiking, there is no better way to explore this legendary mountain than to put on your walking boots and go up on your own. There are many ways to the summit of varied difficulty.
A common alternative, and the one we suggest, was a one-way walk up followed by a cable car journey down. If you aren't up for ascending a massive mountain, you can take the cable car both ways and spend time at the peak, walking along the trails and, if the weather cooperates, admiring the scenery.
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden
Kirstenbosch, South Africa's largest and best botanical garden, is located east of Table Mountain's top on a sloping hillside. It covers about 1,300 acres and is home to approximately 7,000 different varieties of floral plants, trees, shrubs, herbs, and ferns. Many of the species featured here are unusual and even endangered.
The 'Boomslang' canopy walkway is a centerpiece of the gardens, a massive wooden bridge that leads through the trees and provides panoramic views of Kirstenbosch and Table Mountain.

Robben Island
Cape Town is renowned for its natural beauty, but it also has a rich history and culture. The apartheid regime was a particularly dark chapter in South Africa's tumultuous history, and Robben Island remains an infamous reminder of that time.
This little island, located approximately 4 miles off the shore, served as a prison for political opponents and renowned anti-apartheid campaigners. Nelson Mandela, who had been detained here for more than 18 years, was the most prominent inmate.
The prison is now a museum and one of Cape Town's most popular tourist attractions. The tour guides are ex-prisoners, which is astonishing. They describe the severe conditions they faced, the pervasive racism of the day, and the intellectual struggle against apartheid.
Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
The V&A Waterfront serves as both a departure point for Robben Island and a return destination. So, it's a good idea to spend some time here following your boat excursion. It's a popular gathering spot for parties and children, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes, as well as stunning harbor views. Keep an eye out for local seals who come to the boardwalks and piers to catch some rays. The V&A Waterfront also houses the Two Oceans Aquarium, which highlights marine life along the southern African coast.
If you have some free time and want to explore more, the vibrant streets of Bo-Kaap are nearby. The region is recognized for its colorful buildings and Malay history. There is also the District Six Museum, where you may learn more about Apartheid.

Hout Bay-: Hout Bay, about a 30-minute drive south of the city, is well-known for its large seal colony. The adjacent island, appropriately named Seal Island, is home to approximately 75,000 Cape fur seals. A seal's head underwater. A seal's head pokes out of the water to breathe. There are regular boat tours to go up close to the seals. If you'd want to come even closer, snorkeling cruises allow you to get in the water with these wonderful creatures! If you want to keep dry but yet get up close and personal, kayaking is an alternative.
Chapman’s Peak Drive-: Hout Bay is a good starting point for the famed Chapman's Peak Drive. It's a lovely journey down a winding seaside road with breathtaking panoramic views. This toll road is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in the world, and it should not be missed.
Cape Peninsula-: The Cape Peninsula is a small strip of land south of Cape Town. Not only is it the most southwestern point in South Africa, but also on the entire African continent. It's a vast area to cover.
Boulders Beach-: This was perhaps our favorite activity on the entire program, and one of the nicest things to do in South Africa! Boulders Beach, just outside Simon's Town, is home to a large colony of African penguins. There are few sites in the world where you can get up close and personal with these adorable little birds, but Boulders Beach is one of the best.
Cape Point Nature Reserve-: This Nature Reserve, located in Table Mountain National Park, is an outstanding tourist destination near Cape Town. Standing on its rocky cliffs, staring out over the ocean, you get the strange sensation that you've reached the end of the world. In some senses, it is; you'd have to travel about 4,000 miles south of here to see land again!
